Dr. Kris Vandekerkhove 

(ORCID: 0000-0003-1954-692X) (PhD Bioscience Engineering 2019, UGent, MSc Agricultural Sciences - Forestry 1993 UGent) is Senior Scientist at the INBO and Theme Coordinator on forest research at INBO. 


Since 1995, he coordinates the research on strict forest reserves at INBO, and other research activities related to forest ecology and management and nature conservation in forests. He was also involved in the VLINA-study on ‘soil fauna’(1995-1999), which forms the reference survey for the work package on arthropods, forest structure and microclimate in this proposal. In this project he was a member of the supervisory committee and also coordinated the field measurements on ground flora and stand structure. Through cooperation with universities of Gent and Leuven, he is also involved in studies on forest microclimate. He is also a guest lecturer on forest management at UGent (3rd bachelor Biology).
