Robbe Cool

Robbe Cool (MSc Biology, Ghent University) has a master's degree in Global Change Ecology with a focus on botany. He started working for INBO, where he mapped the nature value of vegetations and land use as part of the BWK (Biological Valuation Map), with the main focus on spontaneous vegetation on agricultural fields (MBAG project).

Since 2025, he has been working as a PhD on the Fourcast project at MBG and Fornalab. He will focus his work on the phenology and leaf functional traits of forest plants and the mesocosm experiment.

His main interest is trying to understand how the Belgian flora interacts with its environment in order to carry out more targeted nature management and conservation. He has a broad knowledge of the identification of flora and vegetations, grasshoppers and birds.
